Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq meets with France's President Emanuel Macron on his visit to Kurdistan Region

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq  on 29 August met with French President Emmanuel Macron, alongside President Nechirvan Barzani and KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.

They discussed the latest political developments in the region and the precarious living conditions for people displaced from Shengal (Sinjar), Mosul and areas destroyed in the war against ISIS terrorists.

Both the Kurdistan Region officials and President Macron stressed the need to continue providing assistance for the IDPs and refugees in camps, to rebuild their areas and ensure that they are protected from threats of terrorism.

President Macron reiterated his pledge to support the Kurdistan Regional Government and to provide humanitarian and logistical support for IDPs and for the areas destroyed in the war against ISIS. He said he hopes that the people of Mosul and Shengal can return home as soon as possible.
