The election and the vote of confidence given to the first KRG cabinet were pivotal and embodied the people's will and desire for self-government and democracy, for those who were oppressed to achieve their legitimate political, civil and cultural rights.

I hope that this celebration brings goodwill and deepens the spirit of brotherhood and reconciliation between all religions and communities. I hope that Muslims embrace happiness and goodwill towards each other and bring peace and stability to our country.

I hope that this holy celebration is an opportunity to strengthen political unity and reconciliation, to overcome differences, to better serve citizens, and to strengthen peaceful coexistence between different ethnic and religious communities in Kurdistan Region.

In the spirit of the blessed Eid, we can overcome challenges and all the political parties and movements must be united. Ensuring the unity of our homeland is the basic, essential duty of Kurdish political movements, especially at this critical stage. 

The Committee on Kurdistani Areas discussed the Bill on the Criminal Court for Crimes by ISIS. The Integrity Committee discussed the second report on reform, and the proposal to amend the Law on the Kurdistan Integrity Commission. 

The Kurdistan Parliament on 5 May held the first reading of the Bill on the Criminal Court for crimes by ISIS and bills on preservation of documents and archives, and the second reading of Bill on the Ministry of Electricity in Kurdistan Region.
