We call on Kurdistan's political forces and parties to come together to form one strong bloc in the formation of the new Iraqi government, and to work to solidify the rights and demands of the people of Kurdistan.

On 31 December 2021, the Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament in a declaration announced their decision to end the autumn session of the third year of the fifth term of Parliament, per Article 7 (paragraph 1) and Article 18 (paragraph 3) of Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure.

On the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, we give our best wishes to Christians in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and around the world. We hope that this occasion brings peace to our region. 

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 19 December 2021 met with Dr. Muna Yukhna Yaqu, the Head of the Kurdistan Region Independent Human Rights Commission (IHRC).

Dr. Faiq said, "The Independent Human Rights Commission should be administratively and financially independent, and no political party or side should interfere in their work. All their logistical and financial needs should be provided."

The Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewaz Faiq calls MPs to a sitting on Tuesday 21st December 2021 at 11am, the 12th ordinary sitting of the autumn session of the third year of the fifth term of Parliament. We have assigned the relevant Parliament committees to investigate as soon as possible this tragic recurring situation, which puts the lives and properties of Erbil’s citizens at risk every time that there is heavy rain.

I extend my condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of the floods. My thoughts are with them at this sad time. At such times when natural disasters cause loss of life and destroy citizens’ homes, we should all be responsible for trying to alleviate the grief of the victims' families. No one should use natural disasters to score political points.

The Kurdistan Parliament on 16 December 2021 celebrated the annual Kurdistan Flag Day. Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq, Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami, Secretary Muna Kahveci, the Parliamentary parties, the Diwan of Parliament and families of Kurdistan's martyrs were in attendance. 

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 12 December 2021 met with Ms. Dew Tiantawach, the US Consulate General's Chief of Political and Economic Affairs, and Mr. Joshua Lewis, Political and Economic Officer. They discussed the ISIS terrorist organization’s increased attacks on the Peshmerga forces and Parliament’s current priorities.
