9 December - A delegation of the committee, led by the chair Abdulsatar Majeed (KIG), in Baghdad met with Iraq’s President Barham Salih and Trade Minister Alaa Al-Jabouri, to try to get Kurdistan farmers’ financial dues owed by Baghdad for their wheat production.

Members of Kurdistan Parliament’s Agriculture and Irrigation Committee, led by the chair Abdulsatar Majeed (KIG), on 9 December were in Baghdad to attempt to secure payments owed to Kurdistan farmers by the Iraqi federal government, and met with the federal Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Karim Al-Khafaji.

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 9 December welcomed Armenia’s first ever Consul General in Kurdistan Region, Arshak Manoukian, and discussed the common ground on which the people of Kurdistan and Armenia can strengthen their relations.

On 8 December a parliament delegation together with the KRG Minister of the Region for Minority Affairs Aydin Maruf, visited Akre to look into coexistence between all the ethnic and religious communities there, and met with the Mayor Mazen Muhammad Saeed.

Kurdistan Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci on 8 December welcomed Christof Neumann, adviser to the German forces' command in Iraq. They discussed the status and rights of the ethnic and religious communities in Kurdistan Region.

Mayors, municipal authorities and the Municipalities Ministry told Parliament's Municipalities Committee that there are problems and obstacles to implementing the law and suggested that Parliament amend some articles so that the legislation better serves the public.

The committee met with Dr. Abdulhakim Khasro, the Secretary of the High Committee on Reforms, and Hiwa Afandi, the Head of KRG Department of Information Technology, to discuss the KRG’s report that was submitted to the committee on the steps taken so far to implement the law.
