Committees' recent meetings - 14 November 2020

Committees met with the Peshmerga's 70th brigade in Slemani and stressed the need to incorporate all Peshmerga forces into the Ministry; and discussed with NGOs how the Law on the Rights and Privileges of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs should be  amended.

Committees’ recent meetings – 12 November 2020

Committees are asking for two cases of misused funds to be looked at by the general prosecutor and for the head of the Integrity Commission to be replaced; for Deloitte's oil production audit to be provided monthly to them; and for evidence on two private universities that have not received government authorization. MPs attended the US forces' handover of military equipment to the Peshmerga.

12 November - We view with deep concern the latest actions of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, which disregard the values of coexistence and co-operation and the principle of federalism established by the Iraqi Constitution, in passing a law on the morning of 12 November 2020 that violates the rights of the people of Kurdistan.
