Committees’ recent meetings – 26 July 2020
In their recent meetings, Parliament's committees looked into the death of Kamal Karim Hamadamin, an inmate in Erbil prison, met with the Integrity Commission, discussed education and higher education problems, and met with Kurdistan's potato farmers.
Committee's recent meetings - 22 July 2020
Committees are working on the Kurdish Diaspora Bill and the final draft of the Bill on Patients' Rights and Duties. MPs want to look into the work of the KRG representations abroad. The Integrity Committee will prepare their assessment of the Integrity Commission's annual report.
Committee' recent meetings - 20 July 2020
Two committees compiled a report on Arabization and displacement in the disputed territories, the dangers from militia groups and ISIS, and coordination between the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces. The Integrity Committee and Head of the Integrity Board discussed corruption cases.
Parliament's Presidency and Religious Affairs Committee convey condolences on death of Islamic scholar Mulla Jamil Ali
Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq, Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami and Parliament's Religious Affairs and Endowments Committee on 18 July conveyed their condolences on the passing of Mulla Jamil Ali, a religious scholar.

In recent meetings committees discussed how to increase domestic production and solve electricity problems, visited the Erbil 150 metre road project, and visited Duhok to look at grade 12 exam procedures and meet with the American University of Kurdistan.

In recent meetings MPs discussed with the American University of Iraq Sulaimani (AUIS) the government's order to reduce private university fees; they discussed the Bill on Patients' Rights and Duties; and decided to ask the Health Minister to attend a Parliament sitting.
Deputy Speaker Hawrami meets with Iran’s Consul General Nasrollah Rashnoudi
Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami on 13 July welcomed the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, Nasrollah Rashnoudi. They discussed relations between Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, recent movements by ISIS, and the importance of the reform process in Kurdistan. Deputy Speaker Hawrami gave Parliament's official position on the recent military attacks inside Kurdistan's borders.
Committees’ recent meetings – 12 July 2020
MPs questioned the agriculture and trade ministers about the failure to market Kurdistan's tomatoes and other produce, causing financial losses for farmers. MPs looked at Coronavirus containment measures in exam halls for year 12 high school students. They discussed the health of prisoners with Coronavirus, and delays to court appeals and temporary release due to the pandemic.
Committees’ recent meetings – 7 July 2020
This week committees discussed water meter complaints, cancellation of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, and scheduling a sitting on the Kurdistani areas outside the KRG administration. MPs also visited the areas hit by Turkey and Iran's recent military campaigns.
