Speaker Faiq, Deputy Speaker Hawrami and MPs from the Martyrs’ Affairs, Genocide and Political Prisoners Committee welcomed Mr. Khalil Muhammad Salih, one of persons who went missing as a child in the aftermath of the Halabja chemical bombardment of 1988.

Parliament’s Martyrs’ Affairs and Interior committees both prepared reports on the Reform Bill, which will affect the pensions, salaries and benefits received by government employees, civil servants and martyrs’ families. The Peshmerga Committee meet with Peshmerga Ministry officials to discuss how the Reform Bill intends to reorganise military ranks and pensions. 

MPs and the head of the UN office for combatting people trafficking and narcotics discussed how to raise awareness of these crimes and help the victims. Committees discussed with a Ministry of Natural Resources official details of the Bill on anti-smuggling of oil and oil products. The Finance Committee and the General Director of Kurdistan's banks discussed the state of the banking sector. 

Committees met the Kurdistan Islamic Scholars Union to discuss their recent statement on women taking taxis alone, and how to coordinate their work. Committees completed their final report to Parliament's Presidency on the Bill on Regulation of Commercial Advertising . 

The Agriculture Committee discussed improving management of Kurdistan’s fruit markets, and the Agricultural Insurance Bill. The Protection of Women’s Affairs Committee held a joint meeting with other committees to coordinate their work.

Committees and international coalition military advisers discussed Peshmerga reform and unification; raised road problems with the Minister of Housing and Reconstruction; discussed amending the Law on Martyrs; and looked at the latest draft of the Anti-Narcotics Bill.

10 December - The committee, led by the chair Ms. Jiwan Rojbayani (KDP), welcomed Mr. Khalid Shwani, Minister of the Region for Kurdistani Areas outside the KRG Administrative Area; and Dr. Abdulhakim Juzal, Head of the Board of Kurdistani Areas outside the KRG Administrative Area.

Parliament committees discussed amending the Pharmacists Syndicate Law, and how to help some 100 Kurds held in immigration detention centres in Greece. 

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami on 9 December chaired a meeting of the heads of the parliament standing committees to review their work. 

The new Parliament Affairs and Complaints Committee discussed Parliament's Diwan, spending, and provincial offices. The Culture Committee discussed promoting Slemani as Kurdistan’s capital of culture, and looking into amending the Law on non-governmental organizations.
