Kurdistan Parliament's Martyrs Affairs Committee met the KRG Education to discuss problems with funding education for children of martyrs' families, and the need to include the Kurdish genocide in the school curriculum. The Relations Committee met the Director of Erbil International Airport to discuss how to prevent illegal travel through the airport. The Integrity Committee looked at complained and requests submitted to them by the public.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami chairs meeting to organize four new Parliament committees
Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami on 24 October chaired a meeting to discuss the creation of four new Parliament committees. MPs voted on 29 September to increase the number of committees from 15 to 19, so that MPs can be more focused in their committee work and aims. The membership of the committees continues to be based on the number of seats that each party own in the last general election.
Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Culture Committee express condolences on death of poet Muhammad Omar Usman
The Kurdistan Parliament's Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq, Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami and the Culture Committee expressed their condolences on the death of the poet, Muhammad Omar Usman, known as the 'Autumn General'. Their condolence messages of 23 October are as follows.
Summary of committees’ recent meetings – 23 October 2019
In recent meetings, the relations committee discussed with Minister Reber Ahmad the smuggling of travelers through airports and visa-free travel. The religious affairs committee supported a proposal from the Kurdistan Union of Islamic Scholars to renovate religious schools. The culture committee will scrutinize spending of five million dollars allocated to Erbil governorate in 2014. The martyrs committee urged the Finance Ministry to pay tuition fees for children of families of martyrs and political prisoners.
Parliament’s Presidency and Legislative Committee meet with Kurdistan Region Consultative Council
Parliament's Presidency, the Legislative Committee and the Shura Council agreed on the need for cooperation. Parliament’s Presidency asked the Shura Council to coordinate with the Kurdistan Parliament in general and the Legal Affairs Committee, in particular to address the challenges related to amending legislation.

Foreign Relations and Kurdish Diaspora Committee meet with Head of KRG Foreign Relations
On 17 October Parliament's Committee on Foreign Relations and the Kurdish Diaspora led by chair Dr. Rebwar Babkayi (KDP) met with Minister Safeen Dizayee, the Kurdistan Regional Government's Head of the Department of Foreign Relations (DFR).

Summary of committees’ recent meetings – 15 October 2019
Kurdistan Parliament's Relations and Diaspora Committee discussed the military campaign in Rojava, Western Kurdistan which has already killed civilians and discussed how it must be halted immediately by all diplomatic means. The Kurdistan Exporters and Importers Union raised the issue of tariffs with the Economic Affairs Committee, and said that trade flows in Kurdistan have fallen by 50% and thousands have lost their jobs as a result.

The Finance and Economic Affairs committee elect a new chair, Mr. Ziyad Jabbar (PUK), the municipalities committee send the bill on illegally occupied or taken land to Parliament's Presidency for its second reading. The agriculture and irrigation committee held a joint meeting with the Iraqi Council of Representatives' respective committee and discussed paying farmers for their wheat production.
