Kurdistan Parliament welcomes HDP delegation led by Co-Chair Sezai Temelli
The Kurdistan Parliament headed by Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 8 September welcomed a delegation from Turkey’s People’s Democratic Party (HDP), led by its Co-Chair Sezai Temelli. Dr. Faiq said that the Kurdistan Parliament supports achieving the rights of Kurds in Turkey through dialogue and peaceful means.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami and Secretary Kahveci welcomed Mr. Olivier Decottignies, the new French Consul General and offered him their full support for the Consulate’s activities in Kurdistan Region. Deputy Speaker Hawrami said that Kurdistan values its close partnership with France, which has a special place in the hearts and minds of the Kurdish people.
Parliament's Presidency hold press conference on meetings with political parties
At a press conference on 9th September, the Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq said that we need a Kurdistan Constitution and that political parties should set aside their differences in drafting it and prioritise the national interest. Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami said that in the current four-year term Parliament will work to strengthen the public's confidence in politics.
Parliament’s Presidency visits PUK Deputy Secretary General Kosrat Rasul
Kurdistan Parliament's Presidency on 9th September visited Mr. Kosrat Rasul Ali, the Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami and Secretary Muna Kahveci. They discussed building consensus on issues in the national interest, such as a Kurdistan Constitution, supporting the KRG's agenda, carrying out reforms and supporting the KRG’s negotiations with the Iraqi government.

A Kurdistan Parliament delegation to Slemani, headed by Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq, Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami and Secretary Muna Kahveci, on 9 September met with the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) party. Mr. Salahaddin Bahaaddin, General Secretary of the Kurdistan Islamic Union welcomed the delegation.

A Kurdistan Parliament delegation led by Deputy Speaker Mr. Hemin Hawrami on 4 September had two separate meetings with the Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Mr. Mohammad Halbousi, and with the First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hassan Kaabi. Mr. Hawrami raised several recent Iraqi laws that negatively affect the people of Kurdistan and said they should be amended.

A Kurdistan Parliament delegation to Baghdad headed by Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami participated in a conference of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s Budget and Planning Committee on 4 September. At the conference the Kurdistan Parliament MPs said they will work to build closer relations with other nations’ parliaments.
