Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency led by Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 18 October 2022 attended the launch of three research books published by Parliament, and three guides to parliamentary work published by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

At Kurdistan Parliament’s sitting of 29 September 2022, on behalf of Parliament the Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami condemned the missile and suicide drone attacks by the IRGC on 28 September on several areas of Kurdistan Region, which killed and injured civilians.

The Kurdistan Parliament on 29 September 2022 held the second reading of articles 35 to 37 of the Bill on Education and Training, the provisions on the right to education in other languages, students with special needs, and e-learning. Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on behalf of Parliament’s Presidency condemned the IRGC’s recent attacks on several areas of Kurdistan Region and expressed their condolences to the victims’ families.

The Head of Kurdistan Parliament’s Media Directorate, Mr. Saman Ahmed Bakir, on 22 September 2022 with his colleagues met with Mr. Doug Morrow, the US Consulate General’s Public Affairs Officer in charge of cultural, educational and media relations.

The Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency and MPs on 14 September 2022 met with German MPs from the Social Democratic Party (SPD), headed by Dr. Nils Schmid, to discuss Germany’s ongoing presence in the international coalition against ISIS and areas of mutual interest and cooperation.

On behalf of the Kurdistan Parliament, Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 11 September 2022 signed the book of condolence at the British Consulate General in Erbil, on the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami on 28 August 2022 attended the Youth Own the Platform (YOP) annual forum on youth development, entrepreneurship and capacity building.

The Kurdistan Parliament on 3 August 2022 remembered the victims of the 2014 Genocide against the Yazidi Kurds. Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq, Secretary Muna Kahveci, Yazidi representatives, survivors of the genocide and MPs attended the ceremony in the Parliament building.

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 27 July 2022 met with the supervisor and staff of the Kurdistan Region Legislation Database to discuss the progress of their work.
