Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency, led by Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq, on 25 May 2022 held a meeting with the heads of the parliamentary parties to discuss resuming Parliament’s sittings in order to work on bills and debate important issues of the day.

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 11 May 2022 welcomed Mr. Karel Kortanek, the Czech Republic’s new General Consul in Kurdistan Region. They discussed the latest political developments in Kurdistan and Iraq, and the challenges to holding the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 11 May 2022 welcomed the UK’s Consul General in Kurdistan Region, Mr. David Hunt. They discussed the challenges to the political parties reaching an agreement on the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

I reaffirm my support for freedom of the press and for responsible, courageous, journalists who convey the truth. On this anniversary, I hope for the development of press freedom and adherence to the principles of democracy and human rights.

I hope that this Easter brings joy to everyone, that our Christian brothers and sisters can celebrate this blessed festival with peace and joy, and that we all live together in harmony, peace and prosperity.
