MPs and KRG ministries discuss legislative proposal on Management and Protection of Water Resources

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 25 November 2021 chaired a meeting on the legislative proposal on Management and Protection of Water Resources, with the relevant Parliament committees, KRG Municipalities Minister Sasan Awni and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Karim Suleiman.

Our responsibility in the Kurdistan Parliament is to provide opportunities for the government, women’s rights organizations and other relevant authorities to propose laws and resolutions to support their work. Parliament holds second reading of Bill on Private Security Companies

Parliament amends Law on Missing and Disappeared to include the disappeared through ISIS’s crimes

The Kurdistan Parliament on 23 November 2021 passed amendments to the Law on the Missing and Disappeared, to include those who disappeared through ISIS’s crimes. MPs also held the first reading of three bills. Parliament marked the 10-year commemoration of the death of France’s First Lady Danielle Mitterand, a champion of the Kurdish cause.

Speaker Faiq at MEPS Forum emphasizes federalism, economic diversification and regaining people's trust

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 16 November 2021 spoke at the Middle East Peace and Security Forum (MEPS), a major conference at the American University of Kurdistan-Duhok,. In a panel on the future of Iraq after the recent elections, Dr. Faiq said, “Iraq needs stability in terms of protecting the sovereignty of its borders, diversifying sources of income, acceptance that Iraq’s system has become federal.”
