Speaker Rewas Faiq and Duhok Governorate officials discuss frontline workers' Coronavirus containment efforts

The Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq on 9 April visited Duhok to meet the Governor Farhad Atrushi, governorate officials and the head of the provincial council. They discussed more support for the frontline employees who are working tirelessly to counter the spread of Coronavirus and maintain security.

Speaker Rewas Faiq visits Halabja Governor and Garmian officials to discuss Coronavirus outbreak and measures

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq last week visited Halabja governorate authorities and the authorities in Garmian to discuss the measures against the Coronavirus outbreak. Parliament will formally consult with the Kurdistan Regional Government and governorates on help for people economically affected by the lockdown, the Speaker said.

On the 32nd commemoration of the chemical bombardment of Halabja on 16 March 2020 by Iraq’s former Ba’ath regime, Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq, Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami, and the Martyrs Affairs, Genocide and Political Prisoners Committee conveyed messages of remembrance to honour the victims and called for reparations to the survivors and to the city.
