On the 73rd anniversary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), the Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq sent the KDP the following congratulatory message

Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq accepts Prime Minister Barzani’s challenge to ‘plant a tree and make a city green’

The Speaker of Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq on 17th August planted a tree, taking up the challenge set for her by KRG Prime Minister Masoud Barzani in a campaign to make Kurdistan Region’s cities greener. Speaker Faiq has challenged the Director of Zanyari Security Agency Mr. Lahur Sheikh Jangi, and the Governor of Dohuk Mr. Farhad Atroushi, to plant trees in their respective cities of Slemani and Duhok so that the campaign spreads to those governorates of Kurdistan Region.

Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq welcomes Iran's new Consul General who invites Kurdistan's MPs to visit Iran's Parliament

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 7th August welcomed Iran’s new Consul General in Erbil, Mr. Nasrollah Zar’a Rashnoudi. Mr. Rashnoudi issued a formal invitation to the Presidency of Parliament and MPs to visit Iran's Parliament, the Islamic Consultative Assembly. 

Kurdistan Parliament's Presidency hold meeting with Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on coordinating their work to achieve priorities

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament on 7th July met with Prime Minister Marsour Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani to discuss parliament-government coordination to achieve the shared aim of better serving the people of Kurdistan Region.

Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 30th July met Poland’s Undersecretary of State Maciej Lang and his delegation. Dr. Faiq asked the delegation to help strengthen ties between their respective parliaments and encourage investors to Kurdistan Region.

MPs debate draft resolution on Yazidi Genocide remembrance day, which calls for Iraq to make reparations to survivors

MPs today, 1st August, debated for nearly three hours the draft resolution on designating 3rd August as Yazidi Genocide Remembrance Day, and which calls on the Iraqi government to make reparations to the survivors and victims’ families. MPs will vote on the resolution this Saturday 3rd August at 11am.

Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq honours victims at 36th commemoration of Genocide against Barzanis

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq Hussein, Secretary Muna Kahveci and several MPs on 31st July paid their respects to the victims of the Barzani genocide committed 36 years ago. Speaker Faiq said, "We the three presidencies of the Kurdistan Region must use all measures to help the areas where the Anfal and other genocidal campaigns were committed."

The Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq Hussein on 31st July welcomed Dr. Basheer Khalil Haddad, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament. Secretary Mrs. Muna Kahveci also met Dr. Haddad. Speaker Faiq said, “The Kurdistan Parliament closely observes Iraqi bills and legislation that directly relate to Kurdistan Region and wants the wishes and needs of Kurdistan Region to be considered.”
