I hope that this holy celebration is an opportunity to strengthen political unity and reconciliation, to overcome differences, to better serve citizens, and to strengthen peaceful coexistence between different ethnic and religious communities in Kurdistan Region.

The Kurdistan Parliament on 5 May held the first reading of the Bill on the Criminal Court for crimes by ISIS and bills on preservation of documents and archives, and the second reading of Bill on the Ministry of Electricity in Kurdistan Region.

The Kurdistan Parliament on 28 April passed the Law on Management and Protection of Archeology and Heritage in Kurdistan Region, and held the first reading of amendments to the implementation of the Law on Management of Endowments.

We are saddened and deeply concerned to learn of the fire that broke out at Ibn Khatib Hospital in Baghdad, which caused the deaths and injuries of so many people.

The Kurdistan Parliament on 21 April passed the Law on Conservation of Water and Wastewater Networks and a Resolution to officially designate a Kurdish Journalism. MPs also continued the second reading of the Bill on Protection of Archeology and Heritage, and voted on several changes to committee memberships.

The bombing of the university in Qaladze was a violation of international norms and conventions, but the international community was passive because of the economic and political interests of the powers.
