Deputy Speaker Dr. Hemin Hawrami, Secretary Muna Kahveci and several MPs on 26 May 2022 held a wide-ranging discussion on the security and political situation with members of the European Parliament’s Security and Defence Committee, led by the chair Ms. Nathalie Loiseau.

Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency, led by Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq, on 25 May 2022 held a meeting with the heads of the parliamentary parties to discuss resuming Parliament’s sittings in order to work on bills and debate important issues of the day.

I convey my best wishes to all Muslims in Kurdistan, Iraq and the world, and I warmly congratulate the honourable families of martyrs and the brave Peshmerga of Kurdistan.

As we enter this holy month, we call on all political parties and movements to try more than ever to protect brotherhood, harmony and unity, to be more cohesive and forgiving towards each other.

The Iraqi Government must implement Article 132 of the Iraqi Constitution and the decision of the Supreme Criminal Court to compensate the victims of the Halabja chemical bombing and Halabja’s citizens. We ask the Iraqi Council of Representatives to pass a law to recognize the genocide against the people of Kurdistan that reinforces the rights of the victims to compensation for their material losses and psychological damages.

The Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewaz Faiq calls MPs to a sitting on Tuesday 1st March 2022 at 12 noon, the first ordinary sitting of the spring session of the fourth year of the fifth term of Parliament. The Presidency of Parliament announces the order of business of the sitting as follows:

Kurdistan Parliament's Presidency on 15 February 2022 attended the one-year commemoration of the death of Dr. Rozh Nuri Shawes, a former Speaker of Parliament, Peshmerga and statesman.

Kurdistan Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci on 10 February 2022 welcomed Mr. Choi Kwang-Koo, political adviser responsible for minorities at UNAMI’s Baghdad office. They discussed the political representation and participation of Kurdistan's components and the different views on the next Kurdistan Parliament election.

Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency on 11 February 2022 conveyed their condolences to Hama Saeed Ali, the KRG Minister of Culture and Youth, on the passing of his mother, Ghariba Aziz Baram.

Kurdistan Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci on 7 February 2022 chaired a meeting with the KRG Minister for the Region for Minorities Affairs Aydin Maruf, the Preparatory Committee for the Turkmen and Syriac Academy project and several MPs.
