MPs vote in favour of two committees' recommendations on more support for Peshmerga forces to counter ISIS

The Kurdistan Parliament on 8 December 2021 discussed the attacks by the ISIS terrorist organization on Peshmerga posts and barricades. MPs voted in favour of two committees' recommendations to provide more support for the Peshmerga forces to prevent and counter the terrorist attacks.

Parliament passes Law on Private Security Companies, committees present findings and recommendations on students’ demands and demonstrations

The Kurdistan Parliament on 1 December 2021 passed the Law on Private Security Companies. MPs also approved the findings and recommendations of the Higher Education and Interior committees on the recent student demonstrations and their demands.

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 28 November 2011 addressed a major conference on Gender Equality and Strategy for Strengthening Women's Position in the Kurdistan Region, organized by the University of Kurdistan-Hawler and universities of Salahaddin, Slemani and Duhok.

Committees' recent meetings - 30 November 2021

Committees looked into the plight of Kurdistan Region migrants in Belarus, met with KRG Minister Sasan Awni to look into problems with municipal services, scrutinized investment projects and worked on several bills.

MPs and KRG ministries discuss legislative proposal on Management and Protection of Water Resources

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 25 November 2021 chaired a meeting on the legislative proposal on Management and Protection of Water Resources, with the relevant Parliament committees, KRG Municipalities Minister Sasan Awni and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Karim Suleiman.
