The Kurdistan Parliament on 21 April passed the Law on Conservation of Water and Wastewater Networks and a Resolution to officially designate a Kurdish Journalism. MPs also continued the second reading of the Bill on Protection of Archeology and Heritage, and voted on several changes to committee memberships.

The Kurdistan Parliament sat on 20 April for readings of several bills and passed the Law on the Import and Sale of Oil Products, with Speaker Faiq presiding over the sitting.
Parliament holds workshop on budget preparation, implementation and monitoring
Parliament's Research Centre on 19 April, together with the National Democratic Institute and the financial adviser of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, held a workshop on 'The general budget's preparation, implementation and supervision by Parliament' for members and advisers of several Parliament committees.
Committees' recent meetings - 21 April 2021
The Culture Committee asked the Culture Ministry to stop closures of TV channels' broadcasts when they breach regulations. The Investment Committee wants better supervision of investment projects, especially those that are given land.

Statement by Committee on Protection of Women's Rights regarding murders of women
We are focusing our efforts on passing a new law on combating violence against women, in which the punishment in cases of murdering women are much tougher and will become a deterrent that will help to eliminate these barbaric crimes.
Parliament calls for better services and compensation for Anfal survivors and families in Garmian and Chamchamal
Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 14 April, the 33rd anniversary of the Anfal genocide against the Kurds, presided over a sitting on the situation for Anfal survivors and families in Garmian and Chamchamal and the provision of services for them. MPs made many recommendations, which will be raised with the relevant authorities.
Committees' recent meetings - 14 April 2021
Committees discussed the protection of archeology bill, the draft resolution on Kurdish Journalism Day and a proposal on a health insurance law. They asked the Peshmerga Ministry why it has been slow to implement the Reform Law, and want debt forgiveness for farmers to cope with this year's drought.
Parliament and KRG discuss Kurdistan Region's rights and responsibilities in Iraq 2021 Budget Law
Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 12 April chaired a meeting with the KRG’s negotiating team with Baghdad, led by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, about the Iraq 2021 budget law and Kurdistan Region’s own budget bill.
