Mothers of fallen Peshmerga soldiers participated in Parliament’s Kurdistan Flag Day ceremony
Today, mothers of fallen Peshmerga soldiers participated in Parliament’s Kurdistan Flag Day ceremony.
To honour and remember the sacrifices of Kurdistan’s Peshmerga forces, mothers of soldiers who died in battle stood alongside MPs to celebrate Kurdistan’s flag.
The Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga forces fought a war against ISIS terrorists for several years. Reving Muhammad (KDP), temporary Speaker of parliament, thanked our brave Peshmerga forces and their families for the sacrifices they have made to keep Kurdistan free from terror and secure for everyone.
More than 1,600 Peshmerga soldiers were killed in the war against ISIS, and some 10,000 were wounded. School children, citizens and institutions celebrate Kurdistan Flag Day every year on 17 December.
