Deputy Speaker participates in the opening of a chess tournament

Kurdistan Parliament’s Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami on 15th August opened a youth and children’s chess tournament in Erbil.

In his speech at the start of the tournament, Deputy Speaker Hawrami thanked the organizers and said that the Kurdistan Parliament wants to strengthen sports performance and participation in the Region, which lawmakers can do by drafting bills and resolutions that support sportspeople.

Many under-18s from different parts of Kurdistan Region and Iraq are playing in the chess tournament, which was organized by Khanzad Club in Erbil.
