Kurdistan Parliament's Presidency hold meeting with Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on coordinating their work to achieve priorities

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament on 7th July met with Prime Minister Marsour Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani to discuss parliament-government coordination to achieve the shared aim of better serving the people of Kurdistan Region. 

Both parliament’s and government’s leadership emphasized their institutions serving the people of Kurdistan through coordination to achieve shared goals.

At the meeting in the Hall of the Council of Ministers, Speaker of Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq referred to the importance of parliament-government coordination and said, “Both sides need to coordinate with and support each other on draft legislation that we decide to work on.”

Prime Minister Barzani also emphasized Government–Parliament coordination and providing the right services and support to the people of Kurdistan Region. He said that respecting and increasing trust in the three authorities of the Kurdistan Region – the legislature, the executive and the judiciary - and building on Kurdistan Region’s democratic process were also very important.

Also participating in the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami, Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci, Omed Sabah, Head of the Divan of the Council of Ministers; Shaaban Shaaban Chali, Director of the  Prime Minister’s office; and Dr. Amanj Rahim, Secretary of the Council of Ministers.
