Committees' recent meetings - 15 December 2019

A summary of recent Kurdistan Parliament committees' meetings and activities:

Agriculture and Irrigation Committee 

11 December - The committee, led by the chair Abdulsatar Majeed (KIG), held their weekly meeting. They discussed managing Kurdistan’s fruit markets in way that is more beneficial to the public and farmers. 

The MPs also discussed the proposed Bill (draft law) on Agricultural Insurance, and changes to several of its articles.

The committee responded in detail to all the notes and requests submitted to them.

Committee on Protection of Women's Rights

12 December - The committee, led by the chair Lanja Dizayee (KDP), held a joint meeting with the Endowments and Religious Affairs Committee and the Social Affairs and Human Rights Committee.

The MPs discussed creating a joint plan to coordinate the three committees’ work on democracy, human rights and women's rights issues.

The committees decided that they should look into the work, challenges and problems at government offices and seek solutions.
