Committees' recent meetings - 22 December 2019

A summary of committees’ recent meetings and activities:

Martyrs’ Affairs, Genocide and Political Prisoners Committee

19 December - The committee held their regular meeting, led by the chair Ms. Sawsan Muhammad Mirkhan (KDP). They discussed the articles of the Bill on reform of pensions, salaries, allowances, grants and benefits in the Kurdistan Region, especially the articles related to pensions, salaries, allowances, grants and benefits for families of those who have been martyred, killed in acts of genocide or imprisoned for political reasons.

The committee prepared their report on the bill to submit to Parliament’s Presidency.

Peshmerga Committee

19 December - The committee, led by the chair Mr. Reving Heruri (KDP) and legal representatives from the Ministry of Peshmerga discussed the bill on reform of pensions, salaries, allowances, grants and other benefits. They exchanged views on the bill’s mechanism for resolving military ranks and military pensions.

Interior, Security and Local Councils Committee

19 December- The committee held their weekly meeting, led by the chair Mr. Shakhawan Rauf (Change). The committee members discussed the bill on reform of pensions, salaries, allowances, grants and other benefits. They prepared their report on the bill to submit to Parliament’s Presidency. 

All the reports, complaints, and requests submitted to the committee by the public and organisations were read, discussed and answered.
