Deputy Speaker Hawrami sends condolences to families of three Peshmerga killed fighting ISIS near Khanaqin

The Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami conveyed his condolences to the families of three Peshmerga soldiers who were killed killed in a mortar attack and ground assault by ISIS near Khanaqin on 4 December.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami’s message:  

Last night, a number of Peshmerga soldiers were killed or wounded in an attack by ISIS on their trenches in the villages around the city of Khanaqin. 

This is the second tragic incident this week of the security or military forces suffering casualties and fatalities.

We extend our condolences to the families of Luqman Tahir Najm, Ziyad Khalifa Sultan and Mahmood Muhammad Maaroof, who lost their lives repelling ISIS, and we hope for the speedy recovery of those who were injured. 

We reaffirm our support for the Peshmerga and security forces in the fight against ISIS terrorists.
