Parliament’s Presidency chairs meeting of new Parliament Affairs and Complaints Committee
The Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq, with Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami and Secretary Muna Kahveci, chaired a meeting with MPs of the newly established Parliament Affairs and Complaints Committee.
The Parliament Affairs and Complaints Committee was established as a separate standing committee in November. Previously the area was covered by the Integrity Committee, but it was decided that the two subject areas should be separated so that MPs could give the proper focus and time to them.
Parliament’s Presidency and the MPs discussed the committees’ priorities and plans. The Presidency stressed that in this fifth term of Parliament the focus is on improving transparency, scrutinizing Parliament’s administration and finances, and cooperating with the Kurdistan Region Board of Audit to report Parliament’s work. MPs shared their ideas and thanked the Parliament Presidency for their support.
