Secretary Kahveci welcomes Lion Organization

Kurdistan Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci on 8 December welcomed Mr. Leon Fiel, the Director General of the Lion Organization.

MP Romeo Hakari Head of the Christian National Union Coalition, also participated in the meeting.

Secretary Kahveci described the peaceful coexistence between the religious and ethnic components of the Kurdistan Region and their effective role and participation in Kurdistan’s institutions. She also briefed the delegation on Kurdistan Parliament’s coordination with the KRG on the reform agenda and on drafting the Kurdistan Constitution.

She updated them on Kurdistan Region’s current relations with Baghdad, and the risk of the reemergence of ISIS. Mrs. Kahveci called on the international community to support the Kurdistan Region.

The delegation commended the Kurdistan Region on its policy towards the rights and representation of  components in Kurdistan’s institutions, and their effective participation in decision-making in the Kurdistan Parliament and Government. They said that they hope to develop closer ties with the Kurdistan Region.
