Parliament begins workshop on MPs’ code of conduct
The National Democratic Institute and Kurdistan Parliament’s Research Centre on 16th June began a workshop on Parliament's code of conduct for the heads of committees and heads of the parliamentary blocs.
Mr. Fuad Ahmed, the Head of Parliament’s Research Centre, highlighted the importance of Parliament’s code of conduct for regulating MPs’ work and resolving potential problems.
Mr. Jonas Sequilis, Programme Director for the National Democratic Institute in Jordan, gave a presentation at the workshop. Mr. Sequilis has 19 years’ experience in training to strengthen parliaments and develop codes of conduct.
On the second day of the workshop, MPs and the workshop facilitators will discuss the process of redrafting Parliament's code of conduct.
The National Democratic Institute is a NGO founded in the US that works with local partners to support and strengthen democratic institutions. It has field offices in 50 countries, including in Iraq.
