Parliament's Presidency announces closure of applications for Kurdistan Region President candidates

Today, 15th May 2019, at 11 am the Kurdistan Parliament's Presidency officially announced the closure of applications for those wishing to be a candidate for the post of Kurdistan Region President.

The window for submitting applications opened on 12th May. The parties  in the Kurdistan Parliament will have three days to appeal against applicants who they believe do not meet the criteria for candidacy. Thereafter, MPs will vote on the accepted candidates to select the next President of the Kurdistan Region.
