Parliament's Presidency announces programme for swearing-in of President of Kurdistan Region, on 10th June at 11am

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament announces the order of business for the fifth term’s seventh normal sitting on 10th June 2019 at 11am:

First, special procedures for the swearing-in of the next President of the Kurdistan Region – Iraq:

1. Holding of a minute’s silence in remembrance of those who have given their lives in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and playing of the national anthems of Iraq and of the Kurdistan Region.
2. Rereading of Kurdistan Parliament’s Resolution Number 6 of 2019, pertaining to the election of H.E. Nechirvan Idris Mustafa Barzani as President of the Kurdistan Region – Iraq.
3. Taking of the oath of office by the President of the Kurdistan Region – Iraq, as per Article 9 of amended Law Number 1 of 2005.
4. Speeches by some of the participants at this historic event.
5. Speech by H.E. Nechirvan Idris Mustafa Barzani.

Second, the nomination of the next Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government – Iraq, as per amended Law No. 1 of 1992, Article 56, paragraph 3 (the Kurdistan Parliament Elections Law).

The Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament decides and announces the order of business of this sitting according to Parliament’s Rules of Procedure, Articles 16 (paragraphs 1, 2 and 3), 18 (paragraph 3), 54 (paragraphs 1 and 5) and 47, 52, 55, 56 and 57.
