Summary of committees’ recent meetings - 30th April 2019
30 April 2019 – A brief summary of Kurdistan Parliament’s committees’ recent meetings and activities:
Martyrs’ Affairs, Genocide and Political Prisoners Committee
30 April - Discussed the outcomes of the meeting with the Minister for Martyrs and Anfal Affairs at the at the ministry, regarding the Martyrs Monument. Discussed how to get data about martyrs’ families in order to provide them with more support, and decided to form several subcommittees to monitor the work of the ministry.
Peshmerga, Interior, Security and Local Councils Committee
30 April - Discussed the recommendations of the conference on Addictive Drugs in Kurdistan, which took place at the Lebanese-French University on 28th April 2019. Agreed to work on the outcomes of the debates and papers of the conference for legislative purposes.
Relations and Kurdish Diaspora Committee
30 April - Decided to form a technical committee to prepare the technical requirements of a workshop about how to draft a bill on the Kurdish Diaspora. Discussed how to participate in relevant events by coordinating with the Kurdistan Regional Government Department of Foreign Relations and the foreign consulates in the Kurdistan Region.
