Vote on Kurdistan Region Presidency Bill scheduled for 8th May, 11 am

6th May 2019 - The Kurdistan Parliament's presidency has scheduled for Wednesday 8th May at 11am the third reading and vote on the bill to restore the Kurdistan Region President's powers, and to temporarily change the presidential election method to a parliamentary vote, until a Kurdistan Constitution is enacted. 

 

At Wednesday’s sitting for the third reading, MPs will vote on the bill. At the second reading on 4th April and at the committee stages, MPs had debated the bill in detail and submitted proposed amendments to each of its clauses. The Legislative Committee has taken account of the proposed amendments and comments and will present the final bill for voting.
