Integrity, Parliament Affairs and Complaints Committee
6 October - The committee led by the chair Ms. Shirin Amin (Change Movement) discussed their meeting with Garmian’s Directorate for Development Planning, after receiving the public’s complaints about it. The committee decided to submit their report on their findings to the Kurdistan Region Integrity Commission.
The committee also reviewed all the notes, requests and complaints received from the public, and answered them in detail.
Committee on Kurdistani Areas outside the KRG Administrative Area
6 October - The committee led by the chair Ms. Jiwan Rojbayani (KDP) met with officials from the British Consulate in Erbil. The MPs gave them a report on the situation in the Kurdistani Areas outside the KRG Administrative Area, and the scheduled 2020 Iraq provincial council elections in which Kurdish IDPs will not be able to vote in a violation of their basic rights.
The committee informed the British officials about the case that they have filed at the Iraqi federal court to challenge the articles in the amended Iraq Provincial Elections Law that violate IDPs voters’ rights.
The MPs and British Consulate turned to the discussions in the Iraqi Council of Representatives about amending the Iraqi constitution, and the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.
The MPs asked the Consulate officials to help resolve the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, within the framework of the Iraqi Constitution.
Endowments and Religious Affairs Committee
6 October -The committee, led by the chair Dr. Hawraman Gacheney (KIG) held their regular meeting. They discussed the problems related to Muslim pilgrimages. The committee decided to present all their views at a conference to be held on the issues related to Muslim pilgrimages.
The committee also reviewed all the notes, requests, and complaints submitted by the public and all of them received detailed responses.
