Statement on case of journalists Amanj Babani, Lana Muhammed and their son by Committee on Social Affairs, Protection of Women's Rights & Human Rights

Per Article 44 of the Kurdistan Parliament’s Internal Rules of Procedure, the Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament asked the Committee on Social Affairs, Protection of Women's Rights and Human Rights to follow up on the death of journalists Amanj Babani, Lana Mohammed and their son.

The committee visited the city of Slemani on 21 and 22 October and gathered the necessary information.

The committee continues to follow up on this case to get full details, and is waiting for the court’s verdict. We hope that the investigation into this case will be proper and will follow due process.
