Three committees prepare joint report on Commercial Advertising Bill

26 November – Three committees held a meeting to prepare their joint report on the Commercial Advertising Bill (draft law), which will be scheduled for debate and discussion at a Parliament sitting in the near future.

Kurdistan Parliament’s Legislative Committee; Culture, Civil Society, Sports and Youth Committee; and Municipalities, Transport, Communication, Travel and Tourism Committee discussed in depth the articles and paragraphs of the bill. The chairs of the committees will submit a joint report on the bill to Parliament’s Presidency, who will then schedule it for debate and comment by all MPs at a sitting (the second reading).

The Culture Committee and Parliament’s Research Centre on 12 November ran a workshop to discuss and refine the bill with the participation of civil society organizations, academics and experts on commercial advertising.
