Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq meets Czech Foreign Ministry Head of Middle East, Mr. Petr Hladik
Speaker Dr. Rewaz Faiq on 2nd October welcomed the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Head of the Middle East Department, Mr. Petr Hladik, with the Czech Consul General to the Kurdistan Region. Dr. Faiq said that it is important for the Kurdistan Region that foreign countries have diplomatic offices and consulates here. “We thank all the countries that have consulates in Erbil, as their presence has great importance for us,” she added.
The Czech delegation pointed out the importance of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Representative offices abroad, and said that they would support the opening of a KRG Representation in the Czech Republic which will also encourage more trade. They said that they are planning to open a large higher education scientific complex in Kurdistan Region, and have encouraged companies to look at investing in Kurdistan.
Dr. Faiq stated that the Kurdistan Parliament is working to regulate the work of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations to improve its functions, and will encourage the KRG to open a representation in the Czech Republic.
The Speaker said, “Kurdistan Parliament is seeking to provide legal stability for investors in the Kurdistan Region, and will amend the relevant laws to encourage investors to launch projects in the Region. We also would like to benefit from Europe’s industrial experience and to have close commercial and cultural ties. Kurdistan Region is rich in sources of energy, which will help in the development of Kurdistan Region”.
