Kurdistan Parliament’s Presidency visits Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani

The Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq, along with Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami and Secretary Muna Kahveci, on 15 September visited Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani.

They underlined the need to draft a Kurdistan constitution based on national consensus that guarantees the rights of all components, based on the principle of democracy. They also discussed the importance of cooperation between both presidencies to support Erbil-Baghdad negotiations and to secure the constitutional rights of the Kurdistani people that are guaranteed by the Iraqi Constitution.

They also discussed the current situation in the Kurdistan Region and reiterated the need to reform government institutions.
