Parliament’s Presidency holds meeting with Kurdistan Regional Judicial Council

Dr. Rewas Faiq the Speaker of Kurdistan Parliament, Hemin Hawramy the Deputy Speaker and Muna Kahveci the Secretary, and several members of Parliament’s Legislative Committee welcomed Judge Bangen, the Chair of the Judicial Council, the Deputy Chair and several of its members.

Speaker Faiq said that the Judicial Council has an important role in the legislative framework needed for a Kurdistan Constitution and the reform agenda, and in the process of amending or enacting legislation.

Dr. Faiq assured the Presidency of the Judicial Council that the Kurdistan Parliament will support their work.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami underlined collaboration between Kurdistan Region’s institutions in line with the law, and passing important regulations and laws that affect the Kurdistan Region. He also discussed the role of the Council in looking into laws passed by Iraq’s Council of Representatives that affect Kurdistan Region.  

The Presidency of the Judicial Council explained the importance of more coordination and collaboration between all legal authorities in the Kurdistan Region, and making a plan for their collaboration in the interests of Kurdistan.
