Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci meets Turkish-Iraqi Industrialists and Businessmen Association
Kurdistan Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci on 22 September met with Mr. Nawaf Clij, the head of the Turkish-Iraqi Industrialists and Businessmen Association and several of the association’s members. The association said that Kurdistan Region's security and stability make it attractive to companies, and they hope to strengthen ties with Kurdistan Region.
The business association congratulated Mrs. Kahveci on her election as Secretary of the Kurdistan Parliament. They said that the purpose of their visit was to strengthen political, economic and social relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey. They appreciated the security and stability in the Kurdistan Region, which they said is a great incentive for their members to continue working with Kurdistan Region.
Secretary Kahveci welcomed them warmly and gave them an overview of the ethnic and religious communities of Kurdistan Region. She said that their rights and equality are protected by law, even though a Kurdistan constitution has not yet been enacted. She added, “The right of citizenship is protected in Kurdistan Region, and all the components of Kurdistan are true partners”.
Ms. Kahveci said that Turkey is a significant country that has a strategic location between East and West, and that maintaining strong ties between Kurdistan Region and Turkey is important.
