Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq meets HDP MPs and Co-Mayor

Kurdistan Parliament’s Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 4 September met members of Turkey’s HDP political party. She welcomed HDP Members of Turkey’s National Assembly Ms. Semra Guzel and Ms. Nuran Imir, and the Co-Mayor of Şemrex‎ district of Mardin province, Ms. Nalan Özaydın.  

The HDP members congratulated Dr. Faiq on her election as Speaker. They said that the purpose of their visit is to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region and to coordinate on women’s affairs. They also briefed Speaker Faiq on the political situation in Turkey and for the Kurds.

Dr. Faiq thanked the delegation for their visit and reiterated her support for the peaceful demands of Kurdish people in Turkey. She stressed that peaceful means, dialogue and negotiation are the best way to solve political issues in Turkey. She added, “Turkey is an important neighbor for us and we act within the framework of the Iraqi Constitution, based on the realities of the Kurdistan Region.”
