Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq meets Hungary’s Chargé D’affaires Miklos Szabo

Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 11 September welcomed Hungary’s envoy to the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Miklos Szabo. Mr Szabo wished Dr. Faiq and the Kurdistan Parliament success for their work in the current term.

The Speaker briefed Mr. Szabo on the Parliament Presidency’s mission to achieve consensus between the political parties on national issues and to carry out reforms in government institutions. Dr. Faiq also highlighted Erbil-Baghdad negotiations and said that Kurdistan Parliament supports such dialogue to resolve issues according to the Iraqi Constitution. She also explained the latest political developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Dr. Faiq thanked the government of Hungary for their support to the Peshmerga forces in the fight against the terrorist organisation ISIS and hoped that Hungary will continue to support Kurdistan Region.
