Speaker Rewas Faiq and Duhok Governorate officials discuss frontline workers' Coronavirus containment efforts

The Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq on 9 April visited Duhok to meet the Governor Farhad Atrushi, governorate officials and the head of the provincial council.

Speaker Faiq thanked Duhok’s officials, the High Commission on the Coronavirus, doctors, nurses and the security forces, who are working tirelessly to protect the public’s health, counter the spread of Coronavirus and maintain security.

Dr. Faiq stressed that the Kurdistan Parliament will take immediate legislative steps to help those in need at this critical time, especially the public employees who are working to contain the Coronavirus outbreak.

The Duhok governorate officials thanked the Speaker and called on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to do more to help the public.

Parliament Secretary Muna Kahveci and several MPs from different parties also participated in the meeting.
