Speaker Rewas Faiq and Parliament’s legal advisers discuss decision to suspend court appeals

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 19 April met with Parliament’s legal advisers and the Board of Legal Advisers of Parliament’s Presidency.

Speaker Faiq and the advisers discussed the Kurdistan Region Judicial Council’s decision on 8 April 2020 to freeze the deadlines for appeals against criminal and civil court decisions, due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

At the meeting it was decided to write to the Judicial Council to formally give their opinions on the decision.
