Committees’ recent meetings – 28 January 2020
A summary of Kurdistan Parliament’s committees’ recent meetings and activities:
Endowments and Religious Affairs Committee
January 23 - The committee, led by the chair Dr. Hawraman Gacheney (KIG). held their regular meeting and process by which people are selected to make the pilgrimage to Mecca. Many people apply each year. The MPs considered the selection process to be good and fair. The committee decided to visit the Haj and Umrah Directorate at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs to see how the selection is proceeding this time.
MPs also discussed both official letters and notes sent by the public, and decided how to follow up on them.
Finance and Economic Affairs Committee
27 January - The Committee, led by the chair Mr. Ziyad Jabbar (PUK), held their regular meeting. They discussed the Agricultural Insurance Bill and issued their official response to questions about the bill from Parliament’s Presidency.
The Committee responded to all the notes, complaints and appeals sent by the public, and submitted some of them to the relevant authorities.
