Committees’ recent meetings – 8 January 2020

Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research Committee

7 January - The committee, led by the chair Mr. Abdusalam Dolamari (KDP), welcomed the Kurdistan Regional Government Minister of Education, Alan Hama Saeed.

Minister Hama Saeed explained the plans to organize and manage the different levels and types of education, including the private education sector and special education; to organize education leadership and supervision, and the rights and responsibilities of teachers; and to improve pupils’ skills and attainment.

The Minister gave the committee the policy details in writing, for the members to submit their views to the Ministry.

Energy, Natural Resources, Commerce and Industry Committee

7 January - The committee members, led by the chair Mr. Ali Hama Salih (Change), discussed the report that they had prepared previously on the Bill on Anti-Smuggling of Oil and Oil Products. 

At the meeting the committee members finalized the Bill, which has 12 articles, and they agreed to submit it to Parliament’s Presidency.
