Deputy Speaker Hawrami and Russia's Consul General discuss inter-parliamentary ties

Kurdistan Parliament Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami on 27 January met with the Russian Federation’s Consul General, Mr. Oleg Levin.

Deputy Speaker Hawrami and Mr. Levin discussed build relations between the Kurdistan Parliament and the Duma, the Federal Assembly of Russia. Both sides said that they hope that their respective MPs will visit each other’s parliaments to forge friendships and learn from each others' experiences.

The Russian Consul General described Russia’s role in Syria, Iraq and in the wider Middle East, and Kurdistan’s important role in promoting peace, stability and peaceful coexistence. Deputy Speaker Hawrami said that Kurdistan Region will continue to be a force for stability and tolerance in Iraq and the wider area.
