Parliament committees issue their final joint report on the Reform Bill

Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami on 15 January chaired a meeting of the relevant committees who completed their final joint report on the Reform Bill.

Martyrs and Anfal Affairs Minister Abdullah Haji Mahmood, Minister for the Region for Parliament Affairs Dr. Vala Fareed, and Cabinet Secretary Dr. Amanj Rahim were also at the meeting.

The draft legislation is called the Bill on Reform of Pensions, Salaries, Allowances, Grants and Other Benefits, and was drafted and sent to Parliament by the Kurdistan Regional Government on 12 December 2019.

The committee members incorporated into the report the suggestions that MPs made for amending the Bill at its second reading on 12 and 13 January. They agreed on their final report on the Bill, which will be read out at the third reading and vote, scheduled for Thursday 16 January at 11am.

At the third reading, MPs will hear all suggestions for each article of the bill and will vote on the suggestions individually, and they will also vote on the bill as a whole.
