Parliament's Finance Committee holds meetings with Prime Minister Barzani, cabinet members on Reform Bill
Parliament's Finance and Economic Affairs Committee met with KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and other cabinet members on 7 January, to clarify details of the Reform Bill.
The committee, led by by the chair Mr. Ziyad Jabbar (PUK), met with Prime Minister Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani at the KRG Council of Ministers.
Later the same day, the committee members met with several members of the KRG cabinet, including: the Head of the Divan of the KRG Council of Ministers Omed Sabah; KRG Minister of Finance and Economy Awat Sheikh Janab; Minister for the Region for Parliament Affairs Dr. Vala Fareed; Minister for the Region for Kurdistani Areas outside the KRG Administrative Area Khalid Shwani; and the Cabinet Secretary Dr. Amanj Rahim. They exchanged views on all the articles and details of the Reform Bill.
The committee members approved their report on the Reform Bill, and will direct it to Parliament’s Presidency. Parliament held the first reading of the Reform Bill on 16 December. At the second reading, MPs will debate and make suggestions for all its articles and for the bill as a whole.
