Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq sends Reform Law to President Nechirvan Barzani for enactment

Speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament Dr. Rewas Faiq has sent the Reform Law to the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani.

Per Kurdistan Region’s laws and procedures, President Barzani has 15 days to sign the law to enact it, or return it to Parliament once only if he requests a change.

Once the law is signed and enacted, it will be published in Waqaa’ia Kurdistani (the Kurdistani Chronicle newspaper).

The Reform Law, called the Law on Reform of Pensions, Salaries, Allowances, Grants and Other Benefits, was passed by MPs of the Kurdistan Parliament on 16 January.
