Speaker Rewas Faiq welcomes Iraqi Parliament’s PUK MPs

Kurdistan Parliament Speaker Dr. Rewas Faiq on 20 July welcomed a delegation of Iraqi Parliament MPs from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, headed by Dr. Jiwan Ihsan. The meeting focused on the health and economic situation in Kurdistan, and relations between Kurdistan and Baghdad.

Speaker Faiq said, “We believe that Baghdad is key to Kurdistan's strategy, and in our relations with the Federal Government we support the Kurdistan Regional Government’s negotiating team and the Kurdistani parties in Iraq’s House of Representatives.”

The Speaker emphasized that reaching a fair agreement that is in the interests of the people of Kurdistan is needed now.

On behalf of the Iraqi Parliament’s (House of Representatives) PUK delegation, Dr. Joane Ihsan commended the Kurdistan Parliament for tackling the political challenges of the past few months.
