MP Romeo Hakari meets with Jordan’s speakers of the Senate and House of Representatives, Jordanian Catholic Centre
Mr. Romeo Hakari MP in late February visited the Kingdom of Jordan and met with the Speaker of the Senate Faisal Al-Fayez, Speaker of the House of Representatives Atef Al-Tarawneh , and visited the Jordanian Catholic Centre for Studies and Media.
Mr. Hakari, a member of the National Union Coalition which is a Christian party, and chair of Kurdistan Parliament’s Social Affairs and Protection of Human Rights Committee, discussed the current political situation in Kurdistan Region and Jordan and bilateral ties with the speakers of the upper and lower houses of Jordan’s parliament.
Mr. Hakari also met with the head of the Jordanian Catholic Centre for Studies and Media, Dr. Rafat Badr.
In his meetings Mr. Hakari explained the current situation in Kurdistan Region and Iraq, the importance of regional dialogue and of strengthening the historic ties with Jordan.
Mr. Hakari said that Kurdistan Region enjoys and protects peaceful coexistence between different ethnic and religious communities, who are represented in parliament and participate in decision-making and the political process.
